As a Technical Designer, you'll lead and drive client projects from concept through build, ensuring that we deliver unparalleled architectural solutions. You will collaborate with a team of architects and designers to develop innovative and resilient learning environments, manage technical documentation, and provide creative direction.

What You Will Do

Lead the creative efforts and develop overall design concepts and design presentation strategies

Mentor and provide creative direction to design teams

Act as the primary design interface with clients and consultants

Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full construction documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, civil, and other consultants

Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials

Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges

Produce design concept drawings and finished design presentation documentation

Provide code expertise for the project and the team

Maintain and write project manuals and specifications

Review drawings, mockups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors

Conduct Construction Administration duties, including documenting site visits, processing submittals, substitution requests, and RFIs during construction

Participate in business development and marketing efforts

Your Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited school

10+ years of project experience in architectural design, with recent experience in education projects preferred

Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills

Proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and MS Office encouraged

Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures

LEED accreditation is preferred

Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; portfolios should include at least one project with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification
