Job Summary: As a Senior IT & Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and securing RedShelf’s end-user computing environment while contributing to the overall IT security posture. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of end-user technologies, ensuring their reliability, performance, and security. Additionally, you will actively participate in identifying and mitigating IT security risks, implementing security controls, and promoting security awareness throughout the organization. This is not a remote position. Candidate is required to be onsite 2-3 days per week in our Chicago office. Duties & Responsibilities:

+ IT Engineering (70%)

+ Manage and maintain the end-user identity and end-user computing environment; including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and associated software.

+ DaaS (Directory as a service), User/Group management

+ MFA, SSO, SaaS application management

+ Engineer, deploy, and administer endpoint management solutions (e.g., MDM/EMM).

+ Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline routine tasks and improve efficiency.

+ Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-user hardware and software issues.

+ Evaluate and recommend new end-user technologies to enhance productivity and security.

+ Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of end-user technologies with existing infrastructure.

+ IT Security (30%)

+ Implement and maintain security controls for end-user devices, including antivirus/antimalware software, patch management, and access controls.

+ Monitor and respond to security incidents related to end-user computing.

+ Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and remediate risks.

+ Develop and deliver security awareness training for employees.

+ Stay current with the latest security threats and vulnerabilities to ensure adequate protection.

Requirements:

+ 5+ years of experience in IT administration, with a focus on end-user computing and security.

+ Advanced knowledge of Mac and Windows operating systems.

+ Experience with endpoint management solutions (MDM/EMM) and identity management tools (e.g., Jumpcloud).

+ Strong understanding of IT security principles, practices, and technologies.

+ Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

+ Self-motivated and proactive, with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

+ Experience with Jumpcloud or other IDP technologies.

+ Knowledge of educational technology, course materials, and digital publishing.

+ Background or experience in the educational technology or publishing industry.

+ Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS).
