Job Description

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Mount Prospect, Illinois, United States. The selected individual will be instrumental in managing the organization’s accounts receivable duties, including invoicing, payment processing, collections, and maintaining accurate transaction records.

Responsibilities:

- Generate invoices and dispatch them to customers for payment.

- Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and take follow-up action on overdue accounts.

- Investigate and resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes.

- Handle incoming payments in line with the company’s financial policies and procedures.

- Collaborate with other departments like sales and customer service to address and resolve customer billing issues.

- Conduct reconciliation of the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all records are accurate.

- Analyze accounts receivable aging to identify trends and potential issues and prepare relevant reports.

- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures aimed at enhancing efficiency and accuracy in the accounts receivable process.

- Provide necessary support for audits and financial reporting as required.

- Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and regulations relating to accounts receivable.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation and records of all accounts receivable transactions.

- Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable. Requirements – Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and principles

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential

- Experience with accounting software and databases is desired

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Must have a high level of integrity and dependability

- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous

- Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting principles is beneficial.
