Job Summary:

To manage project teams comprised of digital resources, marketing resources, business resources, and others tasked with developing and maintaining connectivity solutions used by Caterpillar dealers, customers, and internally. Manage delivery of group of Connectivity related programs that delivers a common program goal in line with Cat Digital Strategy.

What You Will Do:

The Chief of Staff is accountable for ensuring successful completion of projects, on-time, within budget, and error-free. The principal responsibility of the Chief of Staff is to manage the planning and execution of project team members. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the project charter, communications, metrics, reporting, and the overall project plan and budget.

+ Provides high-level support to the Connectivity leadership team and works closely with the Vice President (VP) for ensuring initiatives, actions, and priorities are delivered

+ Manages a variety of business and administrative functions, while providing direct support to the VP, as needed.

+ Oversees daily operations in collaboration with the VP and department leaders and perform administrative tasks, such as leading weekly staff meetings, synthesizing notes, generating correspondence, and managing calendars.

+ Provides Leadership to focused workstreams for accelerating aftermarket connectivity as practical.

+ Identifies areas of improvement across the department and provides actionable recommendations.

+ Demonstrates success in attention to detail, collaboration, interpersonal skills, and the ability to define risks, resolve problems, and gain agreement.

+ Understands the importance of confidentiality, accountability, and consistency in managing information, people, programs, and initiatives.

+ Acts as key point of contact in department to support a wide range of meetings, executive requests, and other collaborative efforts.

+ Concepts, drafts, and develops presentation content, visualizations, talking points, agendas, and written communications.

+ Plans, coordinates, and executes small- and large-scale events, strategy sessions, offsites, leader meetings, staff meetings, and all employee meetings.

+ Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications.

+ Communicates effectively across product, industry, and executive leader audiences to gain understanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations.

+ Possesses superior organization and prioritization skills.

+ Self-motivated to complete deliverables and has confidence to take initiative and make decisions.

+ Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.

What You Will Have:

+ Proven experience within areas that include a broad business background, exposure to multiple business functions, project or program management, strategy development, and process management

+ Proven experience with project management concepts including project charters, scheduling and planning projects and successful completion

+ Requires strong communication and change management skills

+ Ability to partner and build relationships across matrix organization at various levels

+ Ability to adapt in a functional area and role that is high velocity and ever evolving

+ Excellent interpersonal skills in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or influence others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.

+ Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.

+ Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Considerations for Top Candidates:

+ Prior experience supporting technical projects which may include Connectivity, IOT, Telematics & Condition Monitoring Services

+ Proficiency in Office 365 suite of tools

+ Researches and verifies customer needs and expectations.

Additional Details:

+ This position has the option to be based out of the Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL; or Dallas, TX offices with a flexible hybrid work environment.
