Job Description

The opportunity:

A typical day in the life of a Manager in Training is spent learning about People, Processes, Prevention, and Performance. These are the processes that go into making a product Safely, within Quality parameters, at a Cost and productivity that is market competitive. The Manager in Training will rotate through various functions of the plant, typically spending six months to a year in the assigned function which provides exposure and knowledge to various areas of the business. The intent is to identify an area of the business that will engage the individual in their career aspirations.

What you need to succeed:

Ability to: self motivate for the purpose of “Winning Together”

Learn to Develop:

  • Relationships with the various stakeholders to maximize knowledge attainment/business alignment
  • Utilize company resources to provide value added services to assigned function
  • Learn WestRock policy, process, and procedures for assigned function & execute on goals for assigned function

Experience/Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree Required (Desired Fields: Packaging, Engineering, or Business)
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Technically proficient
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and non-verbal
  • Technology proficient. Microsoft Office Suite proficient.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
