This person will be responsible for implementing correct measuring processes with suppliers and internal personnel. They will also work on ISO standards and update systems and processes.

Overview: Promote the company’s continual effort for improvement through overseeing ISO 9001 and ISO requirements, as well as assisting with other quality assurance support activities. The role involves 80% metrology type work and 20% support in a very collaborative group. Responsibilities include auditing the environment, performing calibrations, training on how to use gauges, checking in and out, and working with suppliers. No day is the same!

Travel: Up to once per year, more realistically once every five years; facility in southeast New Hampshire.

This position is geared for a metrology engineer or measurement engineer. The primary function is to work on measurement activities for manufacturing, including using gaging and measurement tools. The person must have the desire to advance measurement techniques and their application to the company. They will teach other internal employees and suppliers how to use measurement equipment, such as surface measuring devices for the lab and other specialized and advanced measuring equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain the master list of document reviews, approvals, and releases

- Perform document review, edit, release, and obsoleting activities

- Collect and prepare documentation involved in ISO management review

- Maintain and distribute new revisions of external standards (e.g., ANSI, ASTM, ISO/IEC, etc.)

- Assist with determining the requirements for and purchasing measurement devices based on their intended use

- Perform measurement activities using advanced measurement equipment

- Stay informed of the latest measurement methods and technology

- Train employees in the use of measurement equipment in calibration and metrology labs

- Perform other projects and duties as necessary to support Quality Assurance initiatives

Hard Skills

+ Process documentation skills with Microsoft Word and Excel

+ Experience with measuring tools and ability to teach others

+ Knowledge of ISO 9001 or ISO quality standards

Work Environment

Will work with 4 quality members and QM. This will be the 6th person on the team. Will be partly on the manufacturing floor and partly in the office for paperwork and documentation activities.
