Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for enabling United’s customer facing capabilities across all stages of the customer journey. The Digital Product Team is responsible for defining United’s digital product strategy and providing the leadership to execute on that strategy with the help of multi-functional resources. This leadership role keeps up with industry trends, manages the delivery and transformation roadmap for our core capabilities and works on guiding initiatives with scoping, business analysis and business case development.

Product Management

+ Lead or participate in the definition of product strategy

+ Maintain effective working relationships with key business & technology leaders, industry experts and partners

+ Be the main interface for key business and technology partners for assigned products

+ Establish and manage the product roadmaps

+ Manage ongoing updates to product roadmaps and communications across multiple key partners

+ Define and maintain product critical metrics including key business and financial indicators

Innovation

+ Monitor and triage the competitive landscape to influence product evolution

+ Participate in key industry forums – be an advocate for United in influencing their direction

+ Oversee the innovation agenda for assigned products

Project Delivery

+ Manage business case development for critical initiatives

+ Document scope and conduct business analysis for critical initiatives

+ Manage scope and delivery roadmap of critical initiatives – in alignment with product priorities

+ Lead the analysis & design phases of critical initiatives, as needed

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

+ Bachelor’s degree

+ 7+ years experience in product management

+ 2+years Agile/Scrum experience

+ Working effectively with multi-functional teams

+ Excellent written and verbal communication

+ Translate business strategy into product strategy and product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes

+ Manage all aspects of in-life products, including customer feedback, requirements, and issues

+ Prioritizing product features and communicating the reason behind this to the partners

+ Scope activities based on business and customer impact

+ Own the product roadmap

+ Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources

+ Expert knowledge of airline systems, functionality, and industry standards

+ Expert knowledge of product management, business case development and business analysis

+ Demonstrable skills in project planning, roadmap development and detailed status reporting

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

+ Master’s degree

+ Previous airline or travel industry experience a plus.

+ Certified Product Manager (CPM) or New Product Development (NPD) Professional Certification a plus

+ Prior experience as an engineer or technical lead
