Key Responsibilities:

The Manager-FAA Liaison will research and collect information for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program (VDRP), Letters of Investigation (LOI), and other FAA or company issues. This role requires communication with all levels of the FAA and company management, from the Vice President down. The auditor will coordinate multidivisional corrective actions and follow-up to ensure completion.

+ Own the investigation of potential non-compliance discrepancies related to operational issues, report areas requiring corrective action to responsible management, and ensure appropriate corrective measures are implemented and maintained.

+ Set direction and provide mentorship for a team of investigators to meet all responsibilities, assignments, and professional development.

+ Coordinate the program for processing FAA LOI and Voluntary Self-Disclosures.

+ Act as an internal consultant regarding quality assurance issues, policies, and regulatory requirements within and across organizations.

+ Coordinate and implement company-committed corrective action items to the FAA in response to regulatory findings.

+ Serve as a liaison with the FAA and government agencies on company regulatory non-compliance.

+ Lead FAA official documentation and United Airlines’ voluntary disclosures for United Services

NOTE: This position is based at the CSC-Willis Tower, located in Chicago, IL., and is considered a hybrid work schedule, working on a 3-day in-office schedule that may evolve with the company’s needs.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

+ An undergraduate degree in a technical, safety, or aviation-related field or equivalent work experience, along with an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate or aircraft maintenance/inspection experience

+ Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.

+ Validated understanding of pertinent Code of Federal Regulations and Company Manuals/Requirements, with experienced knowledge of UA policies and procedures.

+ Digital literacy, including Microsoft Office Applications, and demonstrated experience with learning Company / Department IT Platforms are required.

+ In-depth experience interacting with the FAA.

+ Ten years of demonstrated significant achievements in aircraft maintenance, inspection, engineering, and Quality Assurance, with outstanding leadership capabilities.

+ Consistently achieved technical excellence in understanding and implementing aircraft maintenance surveillance and analysis programs.

+ You must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship. To meet job qualifications, you must complete an interview. Reliable, punctual attendance is crucial for the position.

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

+ FAA commercial pilot, Airframe, Powerplant, and other relevant certifications (e.g., C.A.S.E. audit certification)

+ Air Carrier Internal and External (vendor) Audit experience

+ Prior managerial experience and familiarity with quality systems and industry certifications
