Humana’s Law Department is seeking a Counsel to provide legal advice and support for its national Medicare Advantage network operations. The position focuses on drafting and negotiating value-based agreements for the provision of care management, utilization management, and other similar arrangements with vendor, clinical and/or provider components. In addition, a portion of the work may comprise providing legal advice, including negotiation support, to corporate and market operations on an array of matters affecting traditional provider network contracting.

Required Qualifications

Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school

3-5 years of experience, with at least 1 year of contract drafting

Active membership in a state bar association

Strong legal writing, communication and analytical skills

Ability to work independently under general supervision and in team settings

Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate with and positively influence others

Preferred Qualifications

Health plan, provider and/or procurement contracting experience

Understanding of medical insurance provider network dynamics and ability to apply this knowledge to situations, inquiries and document preparation

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$136,200 – $187,400 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
