Job Summary:
The Manager, Volunteers and Meetings position manages and coordinates the business and logistical activities associated with meetings and volunteers for the Department of Testing Services (DTS). This position also provides support for the business and operational activities of the entire department. This position serves as a primary contact for members of governing bodies (Commissions, Councils, and subcommittees) who seek meeting support or ancillary support associated with their work with DTS examination programs.
Must Have:
Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Business Management, Hospitality, Meeting/Event Planning, Volunteer Management, Alumni Relations, or related field
A minimum of 5 years of management experience, including relationship management and managing projects
Meeting/event planning experience
Experience that involves heavy reliance on communication, networking, and social skills to address challenging interpersonal situations and crisis management to help achieve goals
Excellent problem-solving, communication, business, and time management skills
High personal performance standards and attention to detail
Displays a calm, even-tempered, confident, respectful, professional, and diplomatic demeanor
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and prioritize workload
Ability to demonstrate initiative and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to take responsibility and follow through on projects
Ability to analyze information to identify pertinent facts and proposes options to address the problem at hand
Ability to calmly triage and resolve problems in an expedient and equitable manner
Ability to collaborate with others as part of a team
Ability to work respectfully and professionally with volunteers and groups; works well with others
Possesses sound judgment and mature business skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Ability for occasional evening/weekend work/meetings and some travel
Nice to Have:
Master's degree is highly desirable but not required
Knowledge of the testing industry, dentistry, dental hygiene, professional licensure, and professional/graduate education
Experience in a health care organization, non-profit organization, professional association, or educational institution, particularly where that experience includes working with volunteers
Knowledge of SharePoint, project management software, association management software, volunteer management software (LineUp), and expense management software (Concur, NetSuite)
