Job Summary

The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Director, Graphic Designer are to create, deliver, and archive printed and digital collateral using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop to represent one of the top global business schools in the world. In this role you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and more, to create stunning visual materials. Part of this role is to be not only creative but also detail-oriented, a fast learner, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of design related projects and collaborate with a talented team dedicated to excellence in brand, design, and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Produces a variety of printed materials, including brochures, one-sheeters, and pamphlets.
  • Archives, locates, resizes and manipulates a variety of photographic assets.
  • Creates cutting-edge presentation graphics.
  • Produces compelling email and digital graphics.
  • Designs original artwork to be printed on high-quality branded merchandise.
  • Designs and coordinates the production of signage for events and other signage needs.
  • Excels at working closely with internal teams to manage deadlines and produce stellar work in a friendly, fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Understands the importance of maintaining a consistent brand and adhering to brand standards.
  • Conceptualizes and creates graphic artwork, such as charts, graphs or illustrations, for various publications, advertising materials and/or customers with limited supervision.
  • Uses on-the-job experience to complete a variety of assignments, such as coordinating production support with outside vendors, as needed.
  • Works within processes to ensure that graphic projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the user's satisfaction. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:
  • Degree in design related program.

Experience:
  • A minimum two years of experience in a full-time or freelance design-related role.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:
  • Online portfolio demonstrating proficiency in graphic design.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Adobe Creative Suite, and complete familiarity with Apple Macintosh environment.
  • Knowledge of interactive and mobile user experience design and HTML5.

  • Work independently with little supervision; possess a self-motivated disposition; identify opportunities for improvement and recommend effective changes, all while achieving key objectives resulting in desired outcomes.
  • Excellent strategic planning, critical thinking, analytical, and persuasion skills.
  • Handle multiple detailed tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, as well as with students, faculty and corporate contacts in a multitude of communication methods i.e., in person, email, phone.
  • Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach.
