Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Senior Director, Data Analytics, Governance & Special Initiatives is responsible for leading the Data Governance, Analytics and Special Initiatives for the areas under the supervision of the CAO and Chief Diversity Officer.
Responsibilities
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Data Governance
Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
Establish data quality standards, metrics, and KPIs to monitor and measure data quality and compliance.
Conduct data quality assessments, audits, and remediation efforts to identify and address data quality issues.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry standards related to data governance and privacy.
Develop and deliver data governance training programs and awareness campaigns for employees.
Monitor and report on data governance performance, trends, and issues to senior management and stakeholders.
Partner with IT teams to implement data governance tools, technologies, and solutions.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data governance and data management.
Data Analytics & Special Projects
Develop and implement reporting processes, dashboards, and metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
Conduct data analysis and provide actionable insights to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements, define metrics, and develop reports.
Design and deliver executive-level presentations and reports to communicate findings, trends, and opportunities.
Lead special projects and initiatives to drive operation decisions, efficiency, and process improvements.
Identify areas for optimization, automation, and enhancement in reporting and analytics processes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data analytics capabilities and deliver value-added solutions.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in reporting and business analytics.
Lead Special Initiatives for both the CAO and Chief Diversity Officer
Qualifications
Master's degree in business, finance, health services, or a related field required; MBA/MPH highly preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, statistical analysis, reporting, program and data quality management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven track record of developing data analytics strategies, implementing reporting solutions, and delivering actionable insights.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Python, R, Tableau).
Experience in designing analytics for a wide range of audiences, inclusive of data sources from various sources.
Experience in designing, developing, and evaluating large-scale multi-level initiatives.
Experience in merging datasets derived from internal and external sources for strategic insights.
Excellent organization, written, and visual presentation skills.
Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and drive business outcomes.
Title: Senior Director, Data Analytics, Governance & Special Initiatives
Position Location: Chicago, IL (Preferred) or remote with travel as needed
Full time based on 37.5 hours per week minimum
Position Grade: 512 Exempt - Estimated Annual Salary Range ($140,000-$175,000)
Reports To: Chief Administrative Officer
