The Strategic Director, Healthcare Leadership serves as the Association's lead representative and manager of strategic convening initiatives in health care, including the Alzheimer's Association Innovation Roundtable, the Dementia Care Navigation Roundtable, the Payer Summit and healthcare-related advisory groups. The Director designs and manages these initiatives to advance the Association's healthcare goals and to increase the Association's leadership, visibility and influence in health care. This role is a key leader in cultivating high-value relationships with strategically important organizations and individuals in the sector, including healthcare executives, clinical champions, experts and key opinion leaders and influencers.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
50% Serve as the Association's lead strategist and manager of assigned convening initiatives, including the Alzheimer's Association Innovation Roundtable, the Dementia Care Navigation Roundtable, the Payer Summit, achieving measurable results in support of the Association's healthcare goals. With each of these groups:
Produce annual publications or other reports that influence the healthcare sector, such as principles, standards, findings or recommendations to increase equitable access to care, improve the quality of care, or improve health outcomes
Meet membership and revenue goals by coordinating with Association co-workers to target and recruit organizations and individuals to participate on the group and to generate revenue in support of the group, through paid memberships and/or sponsorships
Recruit and manage relationships with chairs or other volunteer leaders, to plan the work of the group in support of the Association's healthcare goals
20% Lead and manage advisory groups as needed, to inform the Association and increase its business intelligence, strategic thinking and influence in healthcare
20% Coordinate with other teams at the Association to set and align on priorities for strategic convening in healthcare and to leverage these groups in support of Association goals across functions, such as market research with the MED, clinical leadership and expertise with Med Sci and Medical Affairs, and Key Opinion Leaders with MarComm and Public Policy
10% Maintain knowledge of and fluency in healthcare industry trends, best-practices, and evolving technologies
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Relationship cultivation and management skills, with organizations and individuals
Strategic thinking and systems thinking
Planning and facilitative skills, for meeting planning, agenda building, and group decision-making
Proven leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to influence and inspire others to achieve results, without direct supervisory authority
Extensive knowledge of payer and health systems operations, business models and priorities, and healthcare payment and policy issues
Extensive knowledge of methods for systems change and quality improvement in health care
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
6 or more years of experience working with and/or in the healthcare industry
Demonstrated success and measurable results in managing committees, coalitions, roundtables or similar groups
Experience and success in planning and managing meetings
Masters degree, preferred in a healthcare-related field
Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% within the United States, by car or plane
Position Location: US remote with travel as needed
Full time based on 37.5 hours per week minimum
Position Grade: 511 Exempt - Estimated Annual Salary Range ($120,000-$145,000)
Reports To: Vice President, Healthcare Strategy
