Automotive Adjunct Faculty Pool
Adjunct Faculty appointments have a salary range of $1,250.00 - 1,410.00 per Equated Contact Hour (ECH)
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED UNTIL POSITION(S) IS FILLED.
Adjunct Faculty teach part-time, advise and mentor students. Hiring needs are dependent on student enrollment and course schedules. Courses available may be during days, evenings, weekends or online. This position is an on-campus, part-time appointment covered by the Parkland College Part-Time Faculty collective bargaining unit.

Automotive Adjunct Faculty teach part-time in all areas of automotive technology, participate in the recruitment of students, advise and mentor students and assist with Parkland automotive events. Essential Job Functions
Teach in all areas of automotive technology.
Assist with Parkland automotive events.
Perform professional duties in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the college.

Provide classroom instruction in accordance with the stated philosophy, objectives, and established course outlines of the college.
Inform students of course regulations, evaluation procedures, and other information pertinent to the course; prepares a course syllabus for each course and distributes it early in each term.
Is available for student advising/mentoring.
Maintain regular office hours to ensure availability for student consultation; provides assistance to students in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate scholastic records of students; submits required reports on student progress according to published deadlines.
Participate in departmental governance including curriculum development, instructional materials selection, and academic assessment.
Participate in college-wide shared governance, including PCA Senate, its committees, administrative committees, and accreditation committees.
Participate in student recruitment and retention efforts.
Participate in professional development activities related to discipline knowledge and/or teaching skills.
Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair.
Minimum Requirements
2000 hours of related work experience.
ASE certification in assigned areas of instruction.
Must successfully complete a criminal background check with finger printing.
