Senior Systems Administrator
Lisle, IL (Hybrid)
RINA, formerly known as Patrick Engineering, is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator for the administration of software, licenses, IT Infrastructure, SharePoint and Remote Monitory and Management (RMM).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Software Administration
- Administration of user accounts and permissions for software applications.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to integrate software applications with existing systems and infrastructure.
- Plan and execute software upgrades and migrations.
- Manage and maintain software applications and systems used within the organization.
- Assist in the customization of software to meet specific business requirements.
- Provide input into strategic planning and budgeting related to software acquisitions and upgrades.
- Maintain whitelist and decommission outdated software.
- Evaluate software regularly to address security vulnerabilities and performance issues in coordination with the IT Security Administrator.
- Test software updates and patches in a sandbox environment before deploying to production.
- Evaluate newly requested software to ensure compatibility and security.
License Administration
- Configure and maintain all licensing servers.
- Manage software licenses across the organization to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and legal requirements.
- Track and maintain an inventory of software licenses.
- Monitor software usage to identify underutilized or over-licensed software.
- Collaborate with software vendors and service providers for procurement and support.
- Collaborate with procurement and finance departments to acquire and renew software licenses.
- Conduct regular audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to EULAs.
- Forecast and procure company software based on business needs and budget constraints.
- Track spending for every division/profit center on software costs for quick reference on current spending vs. budget.
- Negotiate licensing agreements to obtain favorable terms and pricing.
RMM Administrator Role
- Manage and administer the Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platform.
- Implement and maintain RMM platform updates and integrations.
- Design and run custom reports for deployed workstations/laptops/servers.
- Set up and maintain automated monitoring for critical events and thresholds.
- Ensure all company assets are reporting and accounted for.
- Design and implement scripts for all IT needs, such as software installation.
- Administration of all user accounts and permissions within the RMM platform.
- Implement, manage and track patching groups and policies for all company assets.
Systems Administration
- Assist in managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and virtualization platforms.
- Assist in installation and implementation of servers and their included software and configurations.
- Implement and maintain recommended security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Assist in managing regular backups and disaster recovery.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
