Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management is seeking an Assistant Director of Special Events for the Evanston campus.
Reporting to the Sr. Associate Director, the Assistant Director of Special Events will play a crucial role in leading, organizing, and supporting a wide range of events across Kellogg. This position is responsible for the oversight and development of a broad spectrum of events across stakeholders, ensuring the Kellogg brand is represented thoughtfully and that events meet established performance objectives. Collaborating closely with the Kellogg Special Events team, departmental stakeholders, faculty, and external partners, the Asst. Director will enhance the university's reputation through executing world-class special events.
This role is based at our Evanston campus requiring 2-3 days a offers hybrid work arrangements, with a minimum of 2-3 days on site at Kellogg’s Evanston offices and additional days working remotely. The applicant must be able to work on-site at various event locations and virtually via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
Some evening and weekend hours will be required for specific events. Limited travel may also be required on behalf of Kellogg events.
Job Summary:
Functional expert responsible for the planning, staffing, and tactical execution of programs &/or events for faculty, students, staff, alumni, sponsors, friends, etc. Coordinates all activities of 1 or more smaller less complex program &/or event or provides support on complex programs &/or events. Programs &/or events may be designed to strategically identify & cultivate prospects, students & alumni in meaningful ways that transition into engaged volunteers & donors. Supervises student workers, support staff &/or volunteers.
