The Associate VP, IT Portfolio Management collaborates with the business portfolio team to align the IT portfolio and demand. The Associate VP, IT Portfolio Management requires a in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide.

We are looking for a seasoned AVP of Portfolio Management to oversee and enhance our IT portfolio execution. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in lean portfolio management, significant experience in IT capital planning and a strong history of delivering value.

The AVP of Portfolio Management will work closely with the Segment CIOs and Business Value Office to prioritize and organize initiatives based on IT Strategy, organizational value return, prioritized funding, and expected delivery schedules. This role will ensure that the appropriate financial and organizational support is allocated in support of those goals.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Oversight : Direct the management of Insurance IT portfolios, working with CIOs to confirm alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets. Understand and manage the dependencies present in IT delivery to make informed decisions on how talent, timeline and costs can impact proformas.

Financial Acumen : Support the business in creation of financial proformas that quantify the value we can drive through IT investments. Ensure that portfolio management processes align with business value delivery. Oversee the prioritization and management of the value stream to maximize NPV.

Productivity Platforms: Evaluate tools or procedural changes that will enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Develop a strategy on how we can tie together scope, workforce, and financials into one view with real time data updates.

Governance : Develop and enforce financial governance policies and procedures across Insurance IT portfolios, working closely with the enterprise finance office to meet OKRs

Transformational Leadership : Spearhead transformation to adopt best practices in portfolio management and governance, driving change that will streamline processes.

Collaboration : Engage closely with senior executives, CIOs, the Value Office and business stakeholders to provide leadership and guidance on portfolio management and governance practices.

Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) and Change Management : Operate effectively within a scaled agile enterprise, utilizing frameworks such as SAFe to ensure the seamless integration of agile practices across the organization. Serve as a change agent to implement Lean Portfolio Management and other Agile practices to ultimately implement a capacity-based funding model.

Required Qualifications

+ 10 or more years of technical experience in an Agile way of working

+ 8 or more years of management experience

+ 5 or more years of experience managing IT budgets

+ Advanced experience leading special projects and producing metrics, measurements and trend reports

+ Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail

+ Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to senior leaders

Preferred Qualifications

+ MBA or other Advanced Degree

+ Possess a solid understanding of operations, technology, communications, and agile alignment

+ Six Sigma certification

+ PMP certification

+ Demonstrated ability to run large scale, highly visible programs with responsibility for multiple project teams

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$168,800 – $232,300 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
