We are looking for a Tax Processing Specialist to join our team in Naperville, Illinois. This role involves working remotely, providing critical support in managing tax-related tasks for our clients. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity that demands strong time management skills and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities:

- Facilitate effective communication with clients and taxing jurisdictions via phone and email

- Format tax data for importing and processing in core software

- Analyze tax data for accuracy and investigate any questionable data

- Take corrective action when necessary to maintain data integrity

- Confirm client approvals and process any requested changes

- Maintain monthly tax calendars, reconciling and analyzing reports

- Prepare and submit sales tax registrations on behalf of clients

- Resolve notices from taxing jurisdictions

- Participate in the implementation process for new clients

- Use Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Outlook to manage tasks and communicate with team members.

- Knowledge of tax procedures and sales tax regulations

- Experience with payment processing and accounting functions

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in email correspondence and phone presence

- Ability to manage calendars and handle scheduling

- Familiarity with software such as ‘About Time’ and ‘Adobe Flex’

- Strong computer and keyboard skills, including use of VLOOKUP function in Excel

- Experience with document filing and management

- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks

- Understanding of tax jurisdictions and corresponding regulations

- Ability to take corrective action when necessary

- Experience or familiarity with the implementation of tax procedures and regulations

- Knowledge of tax notices and appropriate responses

- Any additional skills or experiences, such as proficiency in ‘A Plus’, will be considered advantageous
