SUMMARY

The Tooling Lead is responsible to the Manager of Tooling and GSE for all functions assigned to control and serviceability of Tooling and GSE at the facility. The Tooling Lead is responsible for ensuring that applicable RSM and P&P relating to tool control and calibration are adhered to and followed at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

For the performance of his own work and the work of his crew. Administering proper calibration and tool inventory control of all tools in the facility. Ensuring his crew performs quality work and monitors the work performed by the individuals and crew as a whole. Ensuring Tool Crib Attendants are trained and follow tooling policies and procedures in accomplishing their assigned task. Assuring proper staffing and assignment of personnel as directed by the Manager of Tooling and GSE. Assuring all calibration records are correct and maintained per AAR RSM and P&P. Updates and advises Manager of Tooling and GSE on daily changes. Work with Production and Customer Representatives to ensure all necessary tooling is available for all aircraft visits. Work with Materials Department for the control and issuing of aircraft parts and materials. Makes sure that continued maintenance and proper turn over is maintained between shifts. All other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Basic blueprint understanding and schematic interpretation skills preferred.

- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook

- Knowledge of AAR StAAR tooling data base preferred.
