JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB
The Server Engineer will administer, deploy and modernize on-premises and cloud server technologies. Support hosted business services by maintaining server performance and stability standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS
Maintain existing Infrastructure by Industry best practices
Operating system upgrades (Windows)
Patching
Life cycle
New workload deployment
Performance monitoring and metrics creation/response
Automation via PowerShell scripting
Maintain and developing Active Directory on Premises and in cloud
File Services
Maintain Azure resources in cloud
Support Linux environment
Upgrades and patching
Infrastructure as code
Develop the Infrastructure as code practice via PowerShell scripting
Automate cloud deployments
Monitoring
Support and develop SolarWinds
Change Management
Maintain effective change practice being aware of business impacts
Document and communicate change
Security
Support the mitigation of vulnerabilities identified by the security team
Communication
Strong communication skills in relating technical information to business partners
Ability to articulate technical directions, ideas and visioning
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
Education
At least a high school degree with related experience
Computer Science or related degree preferred
Experience
At least 3 years' experience in information technologies, specifically in the areas of:
2 years' experience in Windows server administration
2 years' experience in Active Directory administration
1 years' experience in PowerShell scripting
1 years' experience in Linux administration
1-year monitoring technologies like SolarWinds
Knowledge / Technical Requirements
Knowledge of PowerShell
Awareness of automation and self-provision approaches
Strong knowledge in Microsoft technologies is required
Competencies, Skills & Abilities
Ability to run small projects or work efforts independently
Strong communication skills in relating technical information
