Visiting BHWELL Coordinator - School of Social Work

Located On-Site in Urbana, IL

Job Summary
Works with the Principal Investigator (PI) and team to achieve the goals of a 4-year federal HRSA training grant housed in the School of Social Work. Responsible for achieving multi-year student recruitment goals, guiding students through the application process, organizing outreach and educational events for BHWELL scholars and partners, contributing to instructional team support of students, and ensuring timely communication with students. Supports and contributes to all aspects of the project, including recruitment, training, evaluation, and annual reports. Works closely with the PI, BHWELL team, and internal SSW partners; and also communicates with external partners, field sites, and BHWELL alumni.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Student Recruitment, Student Outreach, and Student Support

o Developing and implementing a strategic plan for student recruitment

o Planning and leading BHWELL recruitment activities, which may include occasional evenings and/or Saturdays (approximately 6 times per year)

o Recruiting 40+ MSW students each year to apply to the BHWELL program and managing the application process to enroll ~35 students/year in training program

o Managing the BHWELL application process and communicating with applicants throughout the process

o Reaching out to rural agencies and leaders to engage partnerships to identify prospective MSW and BSW students from their communities

o Maintaining clear records of all student recruitment and outreach efforts, events, and communications with rural agencies

o Supporting BHWELL scholar and alumni career development

o Fostering collaboration among BHWELL team, Field Office, Recruitment and Student Affairs Office, and external partners

o Implementing a strategic plan for outreach to rural and underserved areas and healthcare organizations in collaboration with PI, SSW field office, and external partners

o Building synergy between efforts to recruit students and field placements from the same rural/underserved communities

• Training Program Coordination, Communication, and Support

o Coordinating BHWELL program calendar, trainings, meetings, email, and mailing list

o Maintaining regular communication with the PI and team in-person and using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PPT, Teams, Zoom, and Box

o Developing and enhancing BHWELL social media presence and using the website to educate and communicate about BHWELL and behavioral health

o Preparing weekly FF data for instructional team review; participating and responding to students as part of teaching team

o Providing logistical support (and clinical expertise, if applicable) for Interprofessional Education events, simulations, and trainings

o Supporting overall training program coordination and implementation

• Evaluation support

o Preparing annual grant reports and assisting with evaluation duties as assigned

o Co-conducting end of year student focus groups and transcribing

o Assisting with evaluation of Interprofessional Education (IPE) and training activities

o Assisting with data analyses, coding, literature searches, and written summaries

o Helping prepare presentations and reports to disseminate evaluation findings

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work and a minimum of 6 months of practice experience. Experience with social work behavioral health workforce training program, program evaluation, and project data collection and processing. Experience using common office software tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Zoom.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on a HRSA-funded BH workforce project and helping with grant reports using HRSA's EHB portal. Experience in higher education working effectively with students doing recruitment, teaching, mentoring, or delivering support services. Proficient use of Excel and using data to write reports and summaries and inform quality improvement of programs. Experience working with healthcare systems and/or rural organizations. Experience in Integrated Care settings or FQHC as a Behavioral Health Provider. Experience with MSW education program as a student, staff, or educator. Professional experience working in bilingual social work settings. Experience with Canvas LMS to support trainees' learning and professional development.

Knowledge of Social Work Education and the MSW degree program requirements. Ability to work effectively with students while doing recruitment, educational outreach, and offering support services. Ability to help with report writing and compiling data for monthly and annual reports. Ability to use Qualtrics or Redcap survey tools and use data visualization tools in Excel and SPSS. Skills for visual communication and storytelling. Knowledge of healthcare and human services systems and rural organizations. Knowledge of Integrated Care, FQHCs, HRSA, and/or gaps in Behavioral Health Workforce in rural and underserved areas.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Outstanding organizational skills, time management, and problem-solving skills. Professionalism in communication, presentations, and interpersonal interactions (email, in-person, video calls). High attention to detail. Ability to set goals and work autonomously as needed, as well as to work effectively on teams and offer logistical programmatic support toward common goals. Proficient with office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PPT, and virtual communication platforms such Zoom, Teams, etc. Commitment to diversity and to the health and well-being of diverse students and rural and underserved communities.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the search posting closes. The minimum of the salary range for this position is $60,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
