Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced IT Director to oversee all IT (Information Technology) functions in our company. You will oversee a team of IT managers and manage the company's technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies.The position will provide leadership, management and strategic direction to the Technology team, spanning operations, security and program management. The IT Director will oversee the management of the Business Solutions, Service Management, Operations Support and Infrastructure Group teams, ensuring all technical architecture changes and new projects are implemented to the highest standards understanding business benefits, risks and service impact.The goal is to ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the company.

What you will do:

Project Management

• Initiate & oversee projects as described in the IT strategic plans, report progress at monthly executive meetings.

• Undertake additional process improvements as required and report to the monthly executive meetings.

• Give direction to all IT projects, and ensure they are appropriately resourced

• All components of projects are successfully completed as planned and on budget.

• Process improvements completed each quarter.

Leadership

• Provide leadership and management of the IT Projects within Daniels Health to ensure staff resources are allocated and performance exceeds expectations.

• Provide technical leadership to staff through effective guidance and coaching

• Ensure the IT Team is motivated, productive, highly professional and focused on internal and external customer care

• Time and resources are effectively utilized and structure to meet business goals

• Strong team performance cultivated to achieve project goals

• Ensure training and development plans are implemented for each project team member.

• Review your position description at least annually with your line manager

• Be an effective IT team member by setting an example of collaborative teamwork

Solution Development & Acquisition

• Ensure that all solutions (whether supplier or Daniels IT generated) are and remain aligned to IT Architecture Principles from their instigation through to their delivery

• Provide leadership in the technical review and assurance of IT supplier documents and deliverables

• Ensure that solutions are designed (or re-designed) for the Cloud

• Lead all IT solution development, ensuring a strong focus on benefit/value

• Manage strategic delivery partners (suppliers) through all stages

• Ensure that appropriate preparations are made to support the effective implementation of new or enhanced solutions (including ongoing support)

• Work closely with the business regarding its readiness for solution implementation

Cloud Management

• Lead Cloud initiatives per the IT Strategic Vision & Plan

• Be Daniels Health's lead expert on Cloud computing

• Build the necessary culture and capabilities within IT team

• Oversee the safe mandatory updating of all IT solutions in the Cloud

Strategy

• Support the development of the IT strategy by contributing sound technical expertise and advice

• Lead the formulation of implementation plans to effectively execute the IT strategy

• Proactively horizon scan for existing and potential technologies, and keep key IT colleagues and managers informed

Governance

• Ensure that appropriate governance is in place for all projects and that project teams are inclusive of all required IT disciplines

• Have oversight of the day-to-day management of suppliers, contributing to operational service reviews and ensuring effective escalation as needed

• Identify and introduce good practice across all areas of solution development and delivery

Skills / Qualifications

•Proven experience as IT director or similar role- 8-12 years of experience.

•Key leadership skills and driving the IT Team to commercial outcomes.

•Overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them according to established goals

•Outstanding project management skills with budgetary formulation and control abilities

•Devising and establishing IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management

•Familiar with cutting edge cloud-based architecture and applications

•Analyzing the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs

•Manage the purchase or efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and solutions

•Manage budget and report on expenditure

•Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts

•BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus

•Possesses strong business acumen with proven experience in thinking commercially

•Has functioned at an operations level and in a complex multi-facility environment

•Listens effectively, shares ideas and information openly and facilitates relationship building by establishing trust. Is respectful, honest and demonstrates integrity and ethics

•Possesses initiative, good judgment and the ability to problem solve

•Excellent planning and administrative abilities. Has handled demanding workloads to meet objectives

•Is driven, compassionate, and creative, a team player. Interested in serving as a mentor to others

•Must have excellent and effective oral and written English communication skills to speak with both technical and non-technical personnel

•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple projects at once

•Experience collaborating with remote/satellite teams

•Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
