Assistant Manager - Fulfillment Exceptions

Job Description

Wayfair, the largest online-only retailer of home furnishings and housewares in the United States, is hiring for a Fulfillment Exceptions Response Lead/Specialist. The right candidate will have prior experience hitting quantitative performance standards, analyzing data, problem-solving and interacting with multiple software interfaces at one time. In addition, multi-task, relationship building, as well as strong written and verbal skills are a must. Other critical success factors for this role include the ability to think outside-of-the-box, maintain a positive attitude, be self-reliant, remain flexible in daily responsibilities, be willing to work in a warehouse environment and conduct oneself professionally always.

Key Responsibilities:
? Resolve escalated inbound and outbound order fulfillment concerns in area(s) of expertise
? Track and record data for internal and external partners
? Willingness to travel to various Fulfillment Centers 20 – 30% of the time
? Addresses internal or external challenges with minimal guidance
? Proactively volunteers to own issues on behalf of the team and acts with limited manager oversight; course-corrects when presented with new information and communicates when an approach fails
? Clearly communicates recommendations and implications of analysis, breaking down complex findings into concise and digestible concepts
? Asks second-order questions and identifies additional needs, analytical or other, beyond initial assignment
? Serves as a mentor and/or onboarding buddy for other team members
? Proactively offers constructive feedback to manager and teammates in order to help the team grow
? Contributes positively to Wayfair culture by supporting team or company efforts outside of direct scope
? Leverages cross-functional partnerships to effectively problem solve and implement such
? Builds trusting relationships upward and laterally by assuming good intent while prioritizing impact, being transparent, welcoming new learnings, and embracing differences
? Represents Wayfair Values and People Principles with all internal and external-facing relationships and events, as applicable
? Questions the status quo, suggesting new ideas as appropriate
? Operates as the owner of workload, managing prioritization with guidance from manager, as appropriate
? When faced with a challenge, brings proactively proposals to manager
? Takes a structured approach to problem-solving, identifying hypotheses, assumptions, risks, and recommendations
? Proactively seeks feedback and learning opportunities
? Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Desired Skills & Experience:
? A degree-level qualification is highly preferable
? Passion for problem solving and analyzing data
? High attention to detail
? Ability to quickly recognize trends
? Talent for building strong working relationships
? Ability to effectively manage up critical situations to Supervisor in a thoughtful way
? Ability to present opportunity areas regularly to Supervisor
? Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
? Adaptability to constant evolution of workload, processes and expectations
? Strong knowledge of Google Suite, Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly is a must
? Understanding of SQL system, a plus
? Familiarity with warehouse management systems or purchase order systems is a plus
? Successful track record working in a high-volume environment
? Strong desire to be part of a team, while achieving personal and company goals
? Reliable, consistent and self-reliant work habits are necessary
? Regular and reliable attendance is essential

Please note, this is a position located within a warehouse setting. This requires daily interactions with/visiting the warehouse floor on an extensive basis
