Head of Emerging Technology and Innovation

Job Description

We are actively looking for a Senior Regulatory Engineer to work as the Head of Emerging Technology and Innovation working hybrid out of either our Fremont, CA, Northbrook, IL or Research Triangle Park, NC facilities.

+ Proactively monitor regulatory and industry development in key technologies:

+ Bluetooth 5.0

+ Wi-Fi 6/7(Wireless Fidelity)

+ Cellular Communication (2G/3G/4G/5G including mmWave)

+ NFC (Near Field Communication)

+ RFID (Radio-frequency identification)

+ Radar Communication

+ Satellite communication

+ WPT

+ UWB

+ V2X

+ Others

+ Collaborate with regulatory bodies, service providers and internal departments to identify and address technology needs and opportunities.

+ Collaborate with sales, operations, and customers on test plan strategies for complex investigation

+ Investigate emerging technologies and effects on industries served by EMC/RF operations

+ Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements and changes in regulatory requirements:

+ FCC, ISED, ETSI, EU, ASIA

+ Provide industry standard/regulatory updates to key customers and internal teams

+ Identifies new EMC/Wireless related business opportunities for UL, and provides analyses and recommendations.

+ Oversee the identification, development, and delivery of tailored technological solutions that address specific business challenges.

+ Ensure the alignment of technology solutions with business needs, and driving strategic initiatives

+ Establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including business unit leaders, data scientists, and engineers.

+ Experience working for test laboratory in a business development, partnership or deal making capacity is a plus

+ Presentation, interpersonal, and relationship management skills

+ Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

-University Degree in Engineering, or Engineering Technology, from an accredited program plus 10+ years directly related work experience. ?

-Detailed knowledge of Industry EMC/Wireless Requirements and regulatory standards required. ?

-Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline. ?

-Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to resolve problems associated with new and innovative technologies. ?

?

-Detailed knowledge of industry issues, needs, and problems. (Understanding the relationship between TCB and the regulatory bodies such as FCC and ISED)

Total Rewards: The salary range for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area is $155-200K+ and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position.

All employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation.? The target for this position is 20% of the base salary offered. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level.??

We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).?
