Utilities Technician

Description:

This Utility Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining plant air compressors, chillers, fire tube boilers, clarifier, fire suppression system, RO system and HVAC related equipment.

Essential Duties and other Responsibilities

Follow directives of Maintenance Supervisor regarding daily tasks and long-term projects

Use mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical aptitude to repair a variety of utilities equipment.

Address underlying root cause of equipment defects to restore equipment functionality.

Document and track all work, labor, and parts usage through CMMS system.

Ensures compliance with local jurisdictional authorities as it relates to reporting and operating requirements of site utility systems.

Adhere to and assist Operators, Technicians, Management and Engineering in following utility equipment PM schedules and critical maintenance tasks.

Read, interpret, and follow basic, intermediate, and complex blueprints and schematics.

Perform equipment maintenance and overhauls of utility equipment sub-components.

Job Requirements

5 or more years of experience working Knowledge with Plant Utility Systems (compressors, boilers, fire-suppression systems, havoc equipment, etc)

Previous licenses or certifications in boiler operator, waste water, or other utility systems in an industrial environment

Experience with reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, PIDs
