Zurich North America is hiring a National Construction Casualty Consultant (AVP OR VP Level) to join our National Accounts Construction team located in any Zurich U.S. office. This is a hybrid role that will require 2-3 days per week in a Zurich office.

This role will be responsible for various aspects of Construction Casualty portfolio management including utilizing data analytics to inform strategy, stewarding underwriting quality, and partnering in tool & product innovation efforts. Additional responsibilities include analyzing and underwriting highly complex new and renewal business in a referral capacity as a subject matter expert. This position will support Construction’s efforts in customer service and profitable growth, working closely with leadership and various internal stakeholders to deliver comprehensive risk transfer solutions including primary & excess casualty (project and practice) for middle market and large construction management customers, along with other emerging solutions.

This role will be filled at either AVP or VP level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

There will be approximately 25% travel for this position.

In this role you will be responsible for:

+ Manage data analytics-based initiatives at a national level, providing insights and subsequent tangible action items

+ Partner with Technical Underwriting in guideline and Business Strategic Directive development

+ Spearhead SBU led efforts in underwriting quality, including file/regulatory documentation and Technical Underwriting Reviews/Audits

+ Work at the highest authority limits on assignments utilizing a high degree of technical complexity and coordination, and under minimal direction, underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels of highly complex assignments. Coordinate and support global referrals as required.

+ Demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in products and industry.

+ Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manuals.

Basic Qualifications, AVP Level:

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.OR

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaOR

+ Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing areaOR

+ Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaAND

+ Experience with Microsoft Office

OR

Basic Qualifications, VP Level:

+ Bachelors Degree and 9 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.OR

+ Bachelors Degree and 18 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaAND

+ Experience in a specialized insurance line of business or segment (Construction Property)

Preferred Qualifications:

+ CPCU

+ Advanced knowledge of Construction Casualty product lines, the commercial insurance and Construction/Engineering industry

+ Strong Broker relationships

+ Excellent communication skills

+ Excellent skills in relationship building

+ Strong presentation skills

+ Results oriented

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.The combined salary range for this position is$150,000.00-$245,000.00.The starting salary range for theAVP Levelis$150,000.00 -$205,000.00and for theVP Levelis$190,000.00 – $245,000.00.
