Position Title: Speech Pathologist, Acute

Dept: Rehab/Speech

Location: Decatur Memorial Hospital

1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.

Clinical swallow evaluations, speech & language evaluations, clinical follow up on diet tolerance

2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)

Cerner is EMR

3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.

Clinical swallow evalution, acute stroke speech and language evaluation, 1 year minimum experience

4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)

Illinois SLP license, AHA BLS

5. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)

No

6. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.

280 Bed, Level II Trauma center, primary stroke center

7. Dress Code:

black/gray scrubs or professional attire

10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.

general hospital orientation, additional 1-2 days of shadow-based training as needed
