Position Title: Inpatient Physical Therapist
It is for Acute inpatient.

Dept: Rehabilition Center
Location: Decatur Memorial Hospital/Decatur, IL

1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Initial evaluations, ongoing therapy treatments
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
Cerner EMR, gait belts, assistive devices
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Completion of physical therapy school
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
Physical Therapy License in State of IL
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
8 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday. Will work with two other PTs as well as PTAs and OTs. No call required. Weekends are on a rotation, so may require one weekend during the contracted period.
6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
No floating – inpatient team works throughout the hospital inpatient nursing units (ortho, medical, surgical, cardiac, CVU, ICU, IMC)
7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
Average 50-70 patients on PT department caseload per day, divided among 5-6 PT staff members
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)

gray scrubs or business casual
10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
First week is department orientation with supervisor on EMR system, daily schedules and routines, job shadowing with another therapist, then progressively increasing caseload until full based on PT’s competence and confidence level
