You will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Global Battle Management and Readiness Division. GBMR provides sustainment support for numerous Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability. This position is located in Rolling Meadows, IL .

The Electronics Technician Maintenance III applies advanced technical knowledge and practices to solve complex problems that cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Skills required include reading schematics and engineering drawing, soldering, root cause failure analysis, troubleshooting electronic failures, performing systems testing and alignments, evaluating and incorporating engineering changes.

Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.

Candidates will be required to interface with engineering, quality, program management and customers. As a senior technician, on the job training and technical guidance to lower-level technicians will be performed. Good interpersonal skills are required.

Basic Qualifications:

- An Electronics Associate Degree or Military Training Equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of related experience; 7 years of related experience will be considered in lieu of Degree or Military Training

- Strong knowledge of systems troubleshooting.

- Ability to perform circuit analysis to a failed component.

- Ability to read schematics and engineering drawing.

- Solder repair experience.

- Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance. A security clearance is not required to start.

- Must be a US Citizen.

- Microsoft Office basic skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- An undergrad degree in an Electrical Engineering related field.

- Experience working in ERP and MES systems.

- A current DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher).

- Experience in the sustainment of military systems and equipment.

- Experience with military equipment logistics, technical manuals, and quality standards.

- RF (Radio Frequency) experience.

Salary Range: $33 – $33

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
