Job Description

Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, is looking for a ProcessControlsEngineer with a strong background in automation and DCS operations. This position is located at our Clearing, ILmanufacturing facility. Clearing is the flagship manufacturing plant for Nalco Water, leading efforts in quality, water sustainability, and production. The successful ProcessControlsEngineerwill be the primary leader in these areas, driving automation at the plant, increasing our digital and IoT capabilities, supporting and troubleshooting the current SCADA systems, and broadening our SPC capabilities. This unique position is a perfect opportunity to lead a growing team at a World Class Facility.

What You Will Do:

Oversee and maintain all plant DCS/PLC networks, including the architecture, PLC logic programming, and HMI operator interface for production

Provide engineering/technicalsupport to manufacturing and maintenance operations in the troubleshooting, rebuilding and repair of electrical equipment and automated systems

Streamline and maintain cybersecurity of internal process control networks with Corporate IT.

Identify and implement new control instrumentation and equipment

Lead and facilitate automation projects for continuous improvement of manufacturing operations through the design, selection, and installation of new equipment/systems as well as improvement of existing systems

Create and maintain documentation ofcontrolsequipment and systems

Facilitate implementation of process visualization software and integration with current control systems

Implement DCS/PLC upgrades as needed

Interface and troubleshoot various PLC instrumentation with new and legacy control systems

Familiar with multiple Control Systems' hardware & software (i.e. Delta-V, Rockwell, Siemens, Wonderware, etc.)

Installation of various system monitoring capabilities

Build out IoT capabilities across the plant

Support efforts to develop SPC capabilities

Aid in driving best practices for automation across the plant network

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

2 years of experience in a commercial manufacturing environment

1 year DCS or industrial process control experience including PLC and HMI programming

Experience with MS Office suite

No immigration sponsorship available for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in ChemicalEngineering, ElectricalEngineering, AutomationEngineering, or related field

5 years of experience in complex manufacturing environment

Strong communicator and collaborator with experience working across multiple functions

Experienced with legacy control systems migration

Successfully managed multifunctional project teams

Familiarity and expertise with TPM a plus

Expertise with multiple PLC programming languages & HMI interfac
