Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Implementation Engineer is responsible for Advanced IT planning and execution of ICU Medical's Safety Software and Infusion product line with other approved third party vendors, also including the Integration with customer's Electronic Health Record system (EHR).

The position requires a technical understanding of IT related technologies including Cloud, data center, or on-premise (at a client facility) solutions. This will require expertise with Windows and Linux Server, as well as SQL database deployments, networking (both LAN and WAN), and experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and digital certificate management. Also required will be the ability to understand and follow quality system processes, such as HITRUST and/or ISO.

Additionally, the ability to plan and implement interoperability solutions with customer EHR systems via an integration engine interface. Implementation and troubleshooting with an understanding of system interactions using messaging standards such as XML and HL7 (IHE).

The Senior Implementation Engineer must have the ability to effectively communicate and bridge the gap between varying groups of people with technical expertise and business interests, including clients and clinicians.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Implement ICU Medical IT solutions including planning, installation, and quality testing

• Perform advanced configuration of installed ICU Medical solutions to interact with other approved third party vendors

• Maintain quality standards used by ICU Medical such as HITRUST or ISO.

• Work cooperatively with the client project teams with planning, implementing, and problem resolution

• Creation or maintenance of implementation and support documentation as defined by the Service Design Plan for each activity

• Participate in after-hours customer support, which includes an on-call rotation program, weekend maintenances, and other IT related activities.

• Other duties and responsibilities reasonably related to the job/position as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

• Interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients, staff and team members

• Detailed oriented while performing job functions, including required documentation of each installation.

• Experience with time management, task management and following Project Management plans and methodologies for an extended time period (6 months or more).

• Experience with HITRUST or other quality system methodologies and practices

• Advanced experience with server hardware architecture (virtual and/or physical servers, cloud, or data center hosted)

• Advanced experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux Server administration and troubleshooting

• Advanced experience with Microsoft SQL Server (and other SQL database solutions) administration and troubleshooting

• Advanced experience with Microsoft Domain / Active Directory concepts and theory

• Advanced experience with TCP/IP Networking in both a wired and wireless environment in addition to troubleshooting

• Advanced experience and skill in evaluating and diagnosing root causes issues via Log files or other interoperability messaging

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or a High School diploma and equivalent combination of college education and experience

• 4-7 years of IT server and system installation and configuration

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

• Must meet credentialing requirements for access to client facilities (i.e. Sexual Offender Registry Check, etc.)

Travel Requirements

• Typically requires travel up to 25% of the time

• Remote Position

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• This role requires the ability to travel when necessary (sit on a plane or travel in a car to customer locations)

• Ability to work in standing or seated position for extended periods of time
