Summary: The primary purpose of an IT Lead Business Analyst is to lead the analysis, design, and implementation of technology solutions that meet the strategic objectives of the organization. This role involves overseeing the work of junior analysts, ensuring the quality of deliverables, and providing expert advice on complex business problems. The Lead Business Analyst ensures all assigned projects' requirements between business stakeholders and the IT department are clearly understood and translated into effective technical solutions.
This exempt position will report to the CIO in the Division of Information Technology. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Scrum team to prioritize the product backlog and create user stories that clearly convey business needs and acceptance criteria.


Identify requirements to determine project goals and schedule via industry standard analysis techniques such as data flow modeling, workflow analysis, and functional decomposition analysis. Solicit requirements through interviews, workshops, and/or existing systems documentation or procedures.


Identify and implement project management policies and lead multiple small and large software/Web application development projects from conceptualization to launch by defining project's objectives, documenting scope of work, acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects according to plan.


Mentor and train other ACS business analysts on how The College BA's contribute to software development. Remain educated on all terminology and business processes related to strategic projects.


Work closely with the divisions in the definition, testing, training, implementation and support of functional requirements.


Identify strengths and weaknesses of existing systems and develop plans for improvements.
Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, but not required.


At least 4-7 years' experience analyzing customer requirements and developing solutions for mission critical business applications is required.


SQL programming skills are required.


Experience in Aptify software (or similar association management systems) a plus.


SCRUM Certification a plus.


Experience using business processing tools (examples - Visio, Lucidcharts, Jira, JAMA).


Experience with Crystal Reports and BI reporting tools a plus.


Experience with HTML, Javascript, Python and other programming/scripting tools a plus.


Proficient with all MS Office applications, particularly Excel.


Strong communication skills, including facilitation.


Strong facilitation skills across all areas of the College.


Ability to plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
