Position Overview
The Administrative Trust Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of personal trust and agency accounts. Developing new trust business and cross selling clients to other bank products is also essential. This position is also responsible for reviewing trust documents for legal requirements, including tax obligations. Additionally, this position requires that the incumbent develops strong relationships with clients in administering trust accounts as well as having the ability to help set and achieve client goals and objectives.
This role offers an office at the Aurora, IL or Oakbrook Terrace, IL location.
Essential Job Functions
Reviews, interprets, and administers a book of personal trust accounts including trust activities such as estates, trusts, guardianships, and agencies.
Creates estate plans for clients including advice regarding investment options, tax planning, risk management, and trust plan options.
Cultivates and expands customer relationships including business development with new trust clients, gaining additional business with current clients, and cross selling clients on other bank products and services.
Leverages COI network to expand business opportunities.
Ensures all tax liabilities and obligations of accounts are met.
Interacts with broader Trust team to ensure all compliance obligations are met.
Minimum Requirements - VP level
Bachelor's degree and five or more years' experience working as a Trust Administrator; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Applicable knowledge of estate and tax planning strategies

Attention to quality, detail and accuracy with excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills.
High degree of professionalism
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred, but not required
Juris Doctorate strongly preferred
Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and/or Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisory (CTFA)
