JOB OVERVIEW:

The Materials Supervisor takes responsibility for raw, work-in-process, and finished goods material flowing through the Manteno Cold Storage Warehouse. In addition, the Materials Supervisor works hand-in-hand with the Frozen Warehouse Manager, Plant Controller and the broader team as appropriate.

This position requires exceptional organizational and detail skills, a problem-solving approach, and a firm grasp of the warehouse process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for inventory turns of all raw, work in process, and finished goods inventory as well as pallets, boxes, etc. Manage team and systems to maintain accurate inventory by conducting regular physical cycle and on-demand counts and reconciling variances
  • Collaborates with leadership team to develop efficient material flow throughout the facility
  • Coordinates with purchasing and logistics to optimize the shipping, receiving, and inventory control of frozen material
  • Responsible for reporting on freezer capacity utilization and aging inventory
  • Manages the movement of materials throughout the facility
  • Responsible for ensuring that the facility has adequate inventory levels of shipping supplies or that sufficient levels of shipping supplies are en route
  • Responsible for material planning, including scheduling, processing, and inventory control.
  • Uses delivery schedules, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods
  • Responsible for material paperwork flow to ensure accuracy with inventory, lot traceability, and shipping and receiving paperwork.
  • Work to help implement the ERP system at the production & warehousing level and provide ongoing support to the plant personnel
  • Develop a proficiency with the ERP system at the production level
  • Follow up on any errors in the paperwork and proactively work to reduce errors.
  • Directly supervises warehouse team (warehousing and sample team)

JOB EXPERIENCE :
  • Currently holds a Fork-Lift Certification
  • 3+ years of experience in materials management within the manufacturing or warehousing industry required, food production industry experience preferred
  • Strong experience working with an ERP system.
  • Previous supervisory experience or the ability to mentor and lead team members

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strengths in attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Maintains a positive attitude towards team members and other internal stakeholders that fosters an environment of collaboration and teamwork
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deliver a proactive approach and is self-directed in taking initiatives when needed
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; or three or more years of professional experience in similar role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
    • -10°(freezer) to 38°(dock) to 72°(office) to outdoor temperatures
  • Provided cold weather gear

  • Expected Pay Range: $28.37-$32.00
  • Bonus: This role may further qualify for supplemental compensation in the form of bonus and incentive programs, contingent upon achieving pre-established individual and company performance metrics.
