Job Description
JOB SUMMARYThe Inventory Specialist is responsible for coordinating weekly cycle counts as well as the weekly and month-end reporting activities. Execute the production order reconciliation process and request relevant cycle counts and adjust the inventory counts as required. Identify root causes of inventory discrepancies and work cross functionally to resolve. Proactively work to prevent unnecessary aging of materials to prevent loss. Lead by example, train material handlers on cycle counting effectively and educate on the importance of inventory accuracy. Conduct regular cycle counts and update perpetual inventory records. Communicate to the relevant customer partners as required to assist in the efforts to maintain and reconcile the inventory records.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Point person for day-to-day inventory issues
- Manages cycle counts for geographic counting(A-Z): generates cycle count list, may involve daily cycle counting, and cycle count corrections
- Root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies, look for solutions to recurring problems
- Track and maintain inventory accuracy for cycle count and HTL (High Traffic Location) accuracy at your site. Log in formation in to Share Point.
- Report out weekly cycle count and HTL (High Traffic Location) accuracies for your site.
- Account for all production usages for each production run, check for variances/errors during reconciliation.
- Respond to count requests from various departments promptly depending on priority
- Ensure accuracy of cycle count transactions
- Execute dispositions after material(s) have been physically removed from warehouse, removing material from SAP. May have to produce AOD (Affidavit of Destruction)
- Monitor all blocked quants and resolve in a timely manner.
- Monitor HTL (High Traffic Location) areas and send out daily emails to departments that need to follow up on pallets sitting longer than 24 hours.
- Attend drumbeats to discuss any Inventory Control issues that are being caused by other departments not following correct processes.
- Investigate and resolve any negative quantiles showing in all systems.
- Conduct 3PL warehouse reconciliation on a weekly basis
- CHEP/PECO weekly/monthly reconciliation
- KANBAN, TANK and MISC reconciliation
- May include additional duties assigned by Manager
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Familiar with SAP planning, procurement.
- Knowledge of Maker's Pride products or food product industry
- Data analysis and problem solving using defined methodologies
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ensure collaborative relationships with Maker's Pride staff
- Work effectively with all levels of the organization
- Issue and receive instructions using guidelines
- Utilize 'best in class' behaviors with focus on safety, quality, and policy focus
- Multi-task and respond to non-routine requests
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lift and shuttle truck
- Work in a detailed oriented fashion
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years' experience in inventory control
- Demonstrated math skills
- Demonstrated computer skills; MS office and email, SharePoint a plus
- Experience with ERP programs, SAP a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting at a workstation for extended periods of time
- Stand, walk, climb stairs on an infrequent basis
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds on an infrequent basis
- Climb on and off a forklift frequently
The pay range for this full-time, salaried position is $40,526 - $60,788/year. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
