We have a great opportunity available for someone to join our company as an Equipment Mechanic/ Equipment Operator to assist with our corn and soybean crop production. This individual will perform a variety of roles including operating tillage equipment, maintaining farm equipment, hauling grain to and from our bins, shop organization and maintenance and help servicing irrigation pivots. Employees will need to perform preventative maintenance on agricultural equipment and implements, planters, harvesters, tillage. Involves changing bearings, sprockets, chains, etc. Perform preventative and light maintenance on diesel trucks. Guidance from Manager. Haul grain via semi-truck to local terminals, learn to accurately load trucks, monitor, and report grain moisture and grades to minimize discounts received from elevator. Do land improvement such as laying drain tile.  Follow all required safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Will need to show ability to operate equipment without damaging.  We are willing to train if you are mechanically minded.  Operator Role: May, Sept, Oct, and Nov. Operate farm equipment including tractors, auger cart, tillage, drive & unload trucks at harvest, help watch dryer and monitor grain levels in bins. Daily preventative maintenance of equipment, maintain accurate field records, load seed in shuttles tracking what hybrid/variety has been loaded and adhere to safety requirements. Irrigation/Grain Hauling Role: Jun, Jul, and Aug. Help do maintenance on irrigation equipment. Learn about putting on fertilizer and fungicides through pivots including safe handling of chemicals and accurately calculating and recording amounts used. Perform preventative and light maintenance on diesel trucks. Guidance from Manager. Haul grain via semi-truck to local terminals, learn to accurately load trucks, monitor, and report grain moisture and grades to minimize discounts received from elevator. Employees must be able to work on a team as well as work independently and must be able to work extended hours and Saturdays during planting and harvest. Per state regulations, employer is exempt from CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial or heavy truck driving is required. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
