THE OPPORTUNITY:
This existing vacancy is open to candidates that reside in the United States and Canada.

The Senior Manager, Deal Desk is the process and system optimization senior lead on the RevOps team for all matters related to Deal Desk. They will be responsible for designing, documenting, optimizing, and aligning stakeholders on key Deal Desk processes, such as deal management, approval and orders handoff, RFP organization, etc. In terms of systems, the Deal Desk Senior Manager will be responsible for aligning Salesforce, Outreach, and other systems to support business processes. In terms of people, the Deal Desk Senior Manager will be leading the Deal Desk team.

The Deal Desk Team’s primary focus is enabling Sales and Customer Success by managing commercial activities such as order and contract management on their behalf. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Post Sales, Billing, and Legal to shepherd deals through our internal processes and approvals. As a successful contributor, you will increase deal velocity and optimize a smooth cross-functional process to help VelocityEHS book and recognize revenue more quickly.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead Deal Desk team to establish robust rules of engagement to govern Deal Desk sales processes and eliminate friction between the sales, orders, and customer success organizations.
  • Establish Deal Desk KPIs (metrics) and yearly Deal Desk goals and assignments while advocating for deal desk needs, hiring, and tooling.
  • Partner closely with sales and marketing leadership to implement scalable, repeatable, data driven processes based on industry best practices.
  • Assist with all strategic aspects of deal management including approvals, deal configuration/structure, pricing, and order form drafting.
  • Train Deal Desk Specialists and Deal Desk Managers on processes, procedures, and day to day activities
  • Facilitate successful implementation and adoption of new processes within the sales organization. Foster an ecosystem of continuous process improvement.
  • Build out documentation to support processes and enablement of sales teams, including opportunity lifecycle management, account assignments, account hand-offs, etc.
  • Continually improve our processes and identify opportunities to automate and drive scalability in Salesforce and other sales and marketing tools impacting our ability to grow.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that ensure successful execution of key projects and identify opportunities for ongoing process improvements within Deal Desk and the broader sales team.
  • Leverage change management fundamentals to drive ongoing communications.
  • Deliver variety of Deal Desk analytics and other needs as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • 5% Travel Possible

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 1 year or more experience as a people manager leading a Deal Desk team.
  • 2 years’ experience with Deal Desk within a high growth SaaS company.
  • 5 years or more experience in B2B Sales Operations/Revenue Operations management.
  • 2 years or more experience with Salesforce
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CPQ
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies and processes across cross-functional departments
  • Experience in both sales enablement and sales operations (on-boarding, sales processes, systems, etc.).

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees a plus
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a Deal Desk function/role.
