Job Description
A Chicago law firm is seeking a motivated an Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal with 3+ years of relevant experience to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a structured, high-performance environment and is looking to advance their career at a reputable law firm. The successful candidate will support attorneys on complex IP litigation matters, including patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright disputes, across a national platform.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys throughout all phases of IP litigation in federal courts, ITC, and administrative proceedings (e.g., PTAB).
- Manage case files and databases using firm-approved litigation support tools and platforms.
- Draft and file court documents, including pleadings, discovery, and procedural filings, in compliance with federal and local court rules.
- Maintain litigation calendars and track critical deadlines using firm docketing systems.
- Support deposition and trial preparation by preparing witness kits, organizing exhibits, and maintaining trial logistics.
- Assist in preparing and cite-checking legal memoranda, motions, and briefs.
- Liaise with clients, expert witnesses, court staff, and internal firm departments to ensure seamless case management.
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- 3+ years of paralegal experience in a mid-size to large law firm, with a focus on intellectual property litigation.
- Deep familiarity with federal court rules, e-filing systems (e.g., PACER/ECF), and case management protocols.
- Proficiency with litigation and case management software such as Relativity, Concordance, CaseMap, or similar tools.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
