Job Description
This position serves as the Data Center Network Security Supervisor leading and directing the evolution and development of the Data Center and Cloud Security Team(s) by organizing, planning, executing, controlling, and evaluating the security of both physical data centers and cloud-based infrastructures. In this role you will direct, formulate, and effectuate the development of comprehensive policies, programs, and procedures for Network Operations to ensure security best practices for cloud workloads, including data encryption, identity management, and vulnerability scanning. In addition, you will monitor and analyze network traffic to detect and respond to potential security incidents, ensuring effective documentation, investigation, and reporting of security incidents and providing technical, consultative assistance to supported agencies. This position directs technical program budget preparation and controls appropriation of technology expenditures.
Essential Functions
- Under general direction, serves as the Data Center Network Security Supervisor for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), leading and directing the evolution and development of the Data Center and Cloud Security Team(s) by organizing, planning, executing, controlling, and evaluating the security of both physical data centers and cloud-based infrastructures.
- Directs, formulates, and effectuates the development of comprehensive policies, programs, and procedures for Network Operations to ensure security best practices for cloud workloads, including data encryption, identity management, and vulnerability scanning.
- Monitors and analyzes network traffic to detect and respond to potential security incidents, ensuring effective documentation, investigation, and reporting of security incidents and providing technical, consultative assistance to supported agencies.
- Directs technical program budget preparation and controls appropriation of technology expenditures.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
