Job Description

This position is responsible for utilizing available resources of people, equipment, materials, and time to accurately perform inventory receiving, job issuance, job receipt, shipping, maintenance of inventory, accuracy of sales orders to customers in a timely and safe manner. 

 Major Responsibilities:

An employee in this position will perform tasks directly related to:

  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees.  Work proactively to eliminate risks in the workplace, train employees to properly use tools and equipment and correct inappropriate behavior. 
  • Develop Warehouse talent to meet and exceed monthly KPIs.  Focus on cross training and employee skills in the following order:  Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost. 
  • Conduct to meet and exceed monthly KPIs.  Focus on process to achieve results in the following order:  Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost.  Comply with all agencies (IATA) and financial guidelines (inventory cycle counting and excess & obsolete purges).
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees through positive employee relations and compliance with labor law regulations. Provide coverage by managing schedules and ensuring proper use of overtime.
  • Hire, train, coach, discipline and recommend termination of departmental employees.  Be a role model.  Represent Dexter professionally to others.
  • Provide data and support to management team and external departments – be the subject matter expert on what is going on in your department:  people, data, processes, gaps, and corrective actions. 
  • Develop and improve processes to maintain accurate inventory, adhere to financial regulations (regarding inventory) and to exceed goals.  Provide input for other operational processes.
  • Processing Epicor requisitions for all supplies needed to support all warehouse activities and processes to insure available supply.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

 TARGETED ANNUAL SALARY: $78,000-$83,000 depending on experience

Qualifications

      Education and Experience

  • Associates degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in shipping, receiving or warehouse environment.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations that apply to this position.

  • High level of understanding of the business process: Understands policies, practices, technology, trends, and information and how those affect the business.
  • Ability to load/unload trucks, issue and receive jobs, process shipments, and maintain accurate inventory. Accurately process Epicor transactions (EPR System).
  • Experienced in the safe movement of inventory and WIP and training of others in the use of pallet jacks, carts, Forklift and other Lift Vehicles.
