Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for all phases of process technology for the assigned platform(s). Support all activities that are required to safely produce/package quality food products with the most efficient use of labor and materials in each site. Deliver KPIs as they relate to optimized efficiencies and yield improvements for all facilities in assigned platform. Directly accountable for creating synergies that improve facility performance identifiable with World Class organizations, utilizing lean production and continuous improvement techniques.

Responsibilities:

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and development of the 3-year process technology strategy and pipeline.
  • Provide technical leadership in Baking, Bars, Packaging and Refrigerated and Frozen Technology and optimization of lines and footprint.
  • Work collaboratively with the CI Leaders to implement and sustain Continuous Improvement and Technical Services.
  • Support manufacturing activities to ensure maximum quality is delivered in products and/or packaging while maintaining and assuring the sustainability of the Food Safety programs and audit requirements.
  • As a technology leader, interface with the Safety, Quality, R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Scheduling, Commercialization, Accounting, IT, and Sales Departments to coordinate the process technology pipeline to drive introduction of new products and ongoing efficiencies of existing production.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and engineering to build out capital plans to align with process technology efficiency and yield improvements, including upgrades in equipment and process controls.
  • Create strategies to reduce cost associated with direct labor, indirect labor, material, and waste while improving efficiencies and cost per pound.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of and continued success with Maker's Pride's Performance System
  • Lead area to accomplish cultural improvements which are sustainable, people oriented, and outcome driven.
  • Support the compliance with all GMP, safety, health and environmental regulations.
  • Comply with all Company rules, regulations and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, or engineering and/or related field required; Master's degree is a plus.
  • (5) Five years to (10) years' experience in a multi-unit food manufacturing environment
  • Experience in both union and non-union manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience with cost control, food quality safety and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, conflict management, decision-making, motivational and organizational skills required.
  • Strong self-confidence and leadership skills required.
  • Ability to lead by example and influence, negotiate and gain commitment at all organizational levels
  • Food manufacturing experience a must
  • Knowledge of Food Manufacturing, CI, Sanitation, Quality, Safety, Logistics, Procurement, R&D, Production Planning and Maintenance.
  • Well-developed influence leadership skills
  • Experienced in conflict resolution
  • Prioritizes work based on short- and long-term objectives
  • Successfully analyzes and presents data to multiple levels of the organization
  • Project management skills
  • Effective skills in presentation, writing proposals and business plans
  • Leading development and implementation of strategic goals and budget/cost control
