As a key player in Circana's continued transformation, the Accounting Manager will own the financial close process for the Americas, with a focus on the evolving landscape of SaaS, cloud computing arrangements, and internally developed software. You'll partner cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and Project Management teams to ensure accurate accounting for our technology investments, including compliance with ASC 985 and the capitalization of software licenses.
This role goes beyond just managing the month-end close. It's a chance to help build and strengthen the accounting foundation behind a growing, tech-driven company. You'll work with tools like NetSuite, Blackline, Coupa, and Power BI to streamline processes, improve accuracy, and put smart controls and practices in place that support the business as it scales.
What You'll Do
- Lead the execution of a timely and accurate month-end close, with a focus on technology-related accounting.
- Oversee journal entries and account reconciliations related to internally developed software, software licenses and subscriptions, deferred implementation costs, and fixed assets.
- Ensure compliance with ASC 985, including capitalization policies and treatment of cloud computing arrangements.
- Design, implement, and monitor internal controls for software and technology-related spend.
- Collaborate with IT and PMO teams to ensure proper accounting treatment of project costs.
- Develop and document scalable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for end-to-end accounting processes.
- Utilize systems like NetSuite, Blackline, Coupa, and PowerBI to enhance visibility, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Support internal and external audits with timely and accurate deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement and process optimization through KPIs, team training, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team, promoting a culture of accountability and innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of professional accounting experience in the following areas:
- Strong knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance in a public company environment (required).
- Experience in a technology-focused organization with hands-on exposure to SaaS, software capitalization, and cloud-based platforms.
- Familiarity with accounting for internally developed software under ASC 985.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and evolving systems.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for business partners and leadership.
- High proficiency in Excel and ERP/reporting tools (NetSuite, Coupa, PowerBI, Blackline).
- Prior experience managing IPE (Information Produced by the Entity) and MRC (Management Review Controls) is a plus.
- 4+ years of proven leadership experience managing accounting teams and processes.

The range below reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $135,000 and may be negotiable.
This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
