Customer Service Representative – Illinois

This position is posted in two locations to reflect our flexibility with where the successful candidate may be based. Candidates may work out of our Roselle or Rockford location. 

Standard Electric Supply Co. is a family-owned company that is celebrating 106 years of service. We are a wholesale distributor of electrical and automation supplies. We have 16 locations across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. The pay range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Customer Service Representative to join our team in Illinois. The Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt sales and service support for internal and external customers. The Customer Service representative will serve as the primary point of contact for customers while proactively monitoring customer orders and expediting orders when necessary. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain effective communication while following all defined procedures and work instructions to properly process customers’ quotes and orders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-4 years of customer service experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in the electrical industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries via telephone and email in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process customer orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate efforts and act as liaison between customers and the company to achieve effective delivery of our company’s products and services.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with customers, ensuring a high level of service.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to support continuous improvement and quality objectives.
  • Accurately enter customer orders into the system while ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
