Controls Engineer

Job Description

The Controls Engineer role will work with our Controls/Automation Team to create new and modify existing PLC and HMI programs for the automated systems that IRIS provides. In addition, they will be directly involved in electrical schematic revisions and ground-up schematic design for automated systems such as robotic palletizers and machine vision systems.

The specific tasks of the controls engineer include:
Create PLC Programs using RSLogix5000
Create HMI Programs using Beijer ixDeveloper, Aveva Edge 2020 Studio, and FactoryTalk View ME
Electrical Design using either AutoCAD Electrical or DraftSight
Create Bills of Materials for electrical components
Create product support documentation including, but not limited to: operations manuals, troubleshooting guides, and one-point lessons
Potential work on machine vision (Cognex, Keyence) systems

Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Proficiency in RSLogix 5000
Basic knowledge of drafting principles, techniques and procedures
Ability to create and/or modify drawings from provided markups with a high level of attention to detail.
