Position Summary:
The Vice President of Sales is responsible for establishing and directing the profitable sales volume for the Midwest region of Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU). The primary focus of the role is to develop strategic sales plans and provide leadership, direction, development and motivation to drive world class retail execution through a mature DSD sales operation and continuous improvement of processes to achieve the sales and profit growth objectives of BBU.
The Midwest Sales Region of BBU is made up of 4 submarkets (Midwest North, Midwest East, Midwest Central, and Midwest Bimbo Marinela and Bimbo Express). These 4 submarkets cover, all, or parts of, the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The submarkets are compromised of 195 Sales Centers servicing over 22,000+ stores, with an operating revenue over $1.8B.The VP, Sales Midwest will lead a team 3 Sr. Director Sales who lead 12 Zone Sales Leaders, with teams of Market Developers, Market Sales and Operations Sales Leaders reporting to them, who in turn lead our 2,200+ front-line Route Sales Professionals (both Company and Independently owned routes).
Key Job Responsibilities:
Develops annual sales plan to deliver BBU's strategic priorities and goals.
Directs and manages the profitable achievement of the Region's sales projections and budgets through the development of plans and strategies to develop new business and drive growth.
Monitors customer, market and competitor activity and makes recommendations on adjustments to sales strategies in order to maintain positive growth and freshness progress against goals.
Assumes P&L responsibility for the Region, focusing on aggressively identifying and eliminating waste and managing costs in order to positively impact the bottom line.
Directs and coordinates collaboration on business activities between all sales support functions to ensure seamless execution of new and existing business.
Manages multiple channel selling strategies.
Partners with Customer and Revenue Growth Management Leadership teams to manage key customer relationships to ensure exceptional customer and trade relations and participates in closing strategic opportunities.
Collaborates with marketing function to establish successful support, channel and partner programs that facilitate the execution of world class merchandising and build brand strength to drive sales growth and profitability.
Collaborates with distribution and bakery operations leaders to maximize profitability and ensure the delivery of the highest quality product at the lowest landed cost.
Analyzes all sales data and communicates sales information on a regular basis upward, laterally and downward in order to drive action that impacts sales growth.
Directly supervises sales operations leaders and teams.
Creates and maintains a world class culture of success.
Responsible to ensure cross functional alignment through sales transformation efforts
Leads, trains and develops sales leaders through a disciplined coaching process to maximize business opportunities and sales objectives and identify high potential associates for future consideration.
Responsible for creating an engaged, frontline focused sales culture through a disciplined practice of in market coaching and development of the sales leaders.
Leads and implements labor strategies, including the creation of positive relationships with union leaders.
Directs implementation and execution of DSD Excellence sales policies and practices in order to maintain world class standards in sales centers and the market.
Ensures the successful completion of Leader Standard Work at all levels of the sales organization by the communication of strategic sales initiatives and driving action towards the correction of identified market issues in order to develop a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsible for final review and approval of new sales centers or the relocation of existing buildings.
