Hiring Rate Per Contact Hour: Fall 2024 to Summer 2025: $1005.00 if candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree and $1056.00 if candidate holds a Ph.D, Ed.D, or J.D.
Hiring Rate Per Contact Hour: Fall 2025 to Summer 2026: $1030.00 if candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree and $1082.00 if candidate holds a Ph.D, Ed.D, or J.D.

POSITION SUMMARY
Adapt to new and changing situations and demonstrate a positive attitude. Position is subject to all terms and provisions of the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract. Course assignments may be late afternoon, evening, Saturday, and at branch campuses or satellite centers.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Possess and maintain a thorough knowledge of the subject matter necessary to the assigned course load; and keep informed of current trends in the medical assisting field and health care.
2.Demonstrate strong understanding and commitment to the community college mission.
3.Teach classes during non-traditional times (evenings and weekends) and at clinical and other campus sites as needed.
4.Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract.
5.Participate in appropriate departmental meetings.
6.Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning.
7.Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.Graduate of accredited Medical Assisting, or related program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in Medical Assisting, or related field, and hold at least an associate degree; or Graduate of otherwise recognized training entity in Medical Assisting, or related field, and hold at least an associate degree; or; Graduate of institution located outside of the United States and its territories in Medical Assisting, or related field, and hold at least an associate degree.
2.Additionally, the faculty member possesses three (3) years of occupational experience in Medical Assisting or related field;
3.At least one (1) year of full time experience as a Medical Assistant
4.Hold a current certification or other credential from AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA.
5.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
6.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
7.Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

1.Teaching experience at the collegiate level.
