Job Title: Finance Accounting Specialist
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade: 7
Reports To: Associate Director of Finance

Primary Purpose:
Responsible for assisting with all business operations of the agency, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fiscal reporting, and all other fiscal operations.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Maintain accounts payable system, including verifications of invoices from vendors, timely payment, and proper recording.
2. Prepare all disbursement records from proper and allowable fund accounts.
3. Maintain accounts receivable, including all electronic wire transfers and requests for grant funds. Prepare bank deposits and record properly. Conduct bank reconciliations when required.
4. Develop interim financial reports as required by Agency for management and reporting functions.
5. Participate in the regular review of account budgets, making recommendations on actions needed.
6. Participate in the ongoing data entry and system management of the accounting software, including journal and ledger entries.
7. Follow the Agency's procurement policies, including reconciliation of all purchases.
8. Follow all fiscal and agency procedures and policies.
9. Assist with cash flow management.
10. Maintain and record all insurance payments, transactions, and claims.
11. Maintain all Agency property and vehicle 1 1, records.
12. Assist with close out, annual audit process, and other end of the year reports.
13. Prepare all reports required internally and by funding source.
14. Perform all duties of other staff in their absence.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or a related field or equivalent educational development and training.
2. Requires three years professional accounting experience. Fund Accounting experience preferred.
3. Requires knowledge of personal computers and applicable software.
4. Must be eligible to be bonded.
5. Requires the ability to travel overnight or longer to meetings, training, or worksites as required.
6. Must pass all criminal background clearances.
7. Interpersonal skills/demeanor to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers and the community.
8. Ability to speak Spanish desired.

Duties & Responsibilities (continued):
15. Ability and desire to perform as a team member, participate and assist in Agency 1 1 1, functions as needed.
16. Actively participate in carrying out the mission of the Agency by participating in 1 1 1, 1 trainings and staff meetings.
17. Substitute in all Fiscal Office positions as needed.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Outcomes:
1. Vendors and customers will receive timely, accurate payments.
2. Factual, timely financial reports will be produced for management decision making.
3. Financial audits will reveal quality fiscal record keeping and sound decision making.
4. Fiscal growth for the Agency through sound fiscal processes, use of resources, and investment 1 1, strategies.
