About the Role:
Uber Freight's Financial Operations (FinOps) team is seeking a Business Process Analyst II to drive operational improvements in our customer billing processes. This role will be instrumental in resolving billing issues, streamlining workflows, and supporting process automation efforts to accelerate cash flow and improve customer satisfaction.
You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Product, and Support teams, leveraging data and tools to optimize performance, reduce disputes, and ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
What the Candidate will Do:
Billing Operations & Escalation Management
- Manage and resolve complex billing issues
- Triage and case-manage escalations, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions
- Partner with internal stakeholders (Account Management, Finance, Product) to address root causes of disputes or delay
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend process enhancements to improve billing process
- Support automation of manual workflows and documentation standards
- Contribute to platform improvements in tools like Oracle and Billtrust
- Monitor key metrics and dashboards, and using insights to drive process improvements
- Perform root cause analysis on disputes or late payments to reduce future occurrences in billing process
- Customer Communication & Documentation
- Maintain clear, professional communication with customers and internal teams regarding invoice statuses and disputes
- Develop templates and escalation protocols to ensure consistency and effectiveness
- Provide guidance and coaching to internal and offshore team members
- Help update training materials and knowledge base documentation for frontline staff
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years in billing, accounts receivable, or financial operations, ideally in a customer-facing or logistics-related role
- Experience with issue management systems (e.g., Zendesk) and financial platforms (e.g., Billtrust, Oracle)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical mindset with basic proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets

Illinois: The target base salary for this position is $57,000-68,000
