The Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position with expertise in computational and data-science methods in any area of psychology. Candidates should show evidence of research productivity, teaching and mentorship effectiveness, and potential for external funding.
Successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain an active and independent research program, teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and provide service to the department, the university, and the profession. A PhD in Psychology or other disciplines is required by mid-June for a preferred start date of August 16, 2026. The target start date is August 16, 2026, but is negotiable. The budgeted salary range for the position is $96,000 to $102,000 at the Assistant Professor level. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs. It is not typical for a beginning Assistant Professor to be offered a salary at or near the top of the full range for the position .
