Easton, MD (or) Remote U.S.

About the Data Analyst Role:

The Data Analyst utilizes various data analysis tools and software (like SAS, SQL, Excel, R, Python, Tableau, etc.) to manipulate and analyze data, identifying trends in data to pinpoint variances, outliers, and percentile-ranked groups that provide actionable insight opportunities for quality improvement or in-depth investigations. Collaborates with other data analysts to create tabular and graphical presentations that clearly illustrate current levels of care, ensuring complex data is accessible and understandable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Contributes to the design of re-measurement strategies to assess the efficacy of interventions, leveraging analytical reports to effectively quantify their impact on healthcare improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Prepares and/or modifies reports using complex functions of spreadsheet software to illustrate complex analysis.
  • Performs data entry into spreadsheets, relational databases, or other applications and tracks data receipt and distribution to maintain records.
  • Conducts routine functions using databases and client systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Operates and manages dashboards following internal processes and procedures for data capture and measurement.
  • Drafts and maintains data and process documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
  • Prepares trending reports and graphic presentations to visually represent data trends.
  • Utilizes SAS templates or menu-driven analytic tools to build efficient data analysis.
  • Assists in research on specific topics, contributing to comprehensive data understanding.
  • Interprets policies, procedures, and instructions with limited flexibility, adhering to contract requirements and established policies and procedures.

Your background will include:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health or related discipline (e.g., Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science) required.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of hands-on Python, R and/or SQL or demonstrated combination of education and experience (OR) Master's and academic projects, internships, and/or assistantships utilizing statistical programming.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years experience preferred
  • Must have experience utilizing Python for data analysis.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare data and databases preferred.
